The Council, with its establishment in 2018, recognized the need to review the economic model of Cyprus and submitted a request to the European Commission for financial and technical support for the development of the new Long-Term Economic Strategy for Cyprus. After more than two years of intensive work and intensive dialogue with a wide range of public and private sector actors, the new Long-Term Strategy "Vision 2035" has been completed. The new Strategy presents the vision of the society and of the economy for the next 15 years. It represents a comprehensive plan and presents a new economic model through which institutional changes, growth-sustaining structural reforms and productive investments are to be promoted, leading thus to the strengthening of the international competitiveness of the Cypriot economy, with the aim of maximizing the prosperity of all citizens.

On July 6th, 2022, the Long-Term Strategy "Vision 2035" was presented to the Council of Ministers. Press release and relevant presentation can be found below:
